Working in close connection with a web developer we created the G7th site to help promote the business and its capo products. Fundamentally geared towards both distributor and end user we chose a magazine style page layout with an emphasis on quality. In order to achieve this we outsourced the service of a professional photographer and arranged a one day shoot. This helped to build the basis for our website and print work and has given G7th a strong brand identity.
Having won the 'players choice' award G7th wanted to express there thanks to the voters with a full page ad in Acoustic guitar magazine. The photo shoot we had put together for the design of the website included a 'champagne' concept that seemed to work perfectly.
Having been asked to create a logo for G7th Capo I was then approached to take a look at the packaging design. Working closely with the product designer I put together the artwork and prepared the files to print onto a hi-gloss card (with a special pantone silver). We also used mirri board behind the capo to give it depth and maximum appeal at the point of sale.
Asked to create a visual for the NAMM exhibition show i was able to use a supplied file and add in the graphical content. The design was approved and produced at the show in California. This was before the re-design of the IBCT logo (see below).
Both IBC Trading & G7th shared space at the Frankfurt Music exhibition and asked me to produce the panel layout designs and supply the files to be digitally printed.
IBC Trading Ltd requested i had a go at re-designing their logo to give it a contemporary feel that would have more impact at trade fairs and on their advertising. The ad to the right was printed in the trade show magazine.
I was asked by Jackie to create the artwork for the CD 'Jackie Leven Said', a collaboration with fellow Fifer and author Ian Rankin. He wanted it to reflect the design of Ian's books and already had an image he wanted to use for the cover. I created the majority of the artwork from old photographs found in a junk shop. The record was a live recording from a gig in Edinburgh and released on cooking vinyl records.
Hello and welcome to my blog. Here you will find examples of my work. I'm currently working from an Artist studio (KLA) in Leicester where we offer t.shirt design/print & silk screen printing..ideal for authentic retro poster design. I have a passion for music and a lot of my work is music related. I'm dedicated to the local music scene and play guitar in various cover bands (the buccaneers/the dead rock stars). I am also passionate about 'green issues' and will be putting on gigs this year with my partner to help raise money to plant a wood!
